The Sealy Tiger baseball team opened District 24-4A play last week and earned the victory in both contests, 5-3 over El Campo Tuesday and 13-2 over Royal Friday. Despite the wins, Head Coach Trey Marik acknowledged there are still things the squad needs to work on.

The Sealy Tiger baseball team embarks upon its district stretch of games this week with road trips to El Campo and Brookshire on the docket. Sealy finished non-district play with an 11-4 record after it split last week with a 2-0 home loss to Giddings and a 9-0 road win over La Grange.

For the first time in program history, the Sealy Lady Tiger soccer team finished the regular season as district champions after a 1-0 win over Royal last Friday night at home. Sealy freshman Elizabeth Reichardt’s goal with only 5:24 left in regulation was the difference-maker in the contest that featured wind gusts up to 35 miles per hour.

Sam Houston senior Clayton Fritsch not only claimed the Western Athletic Conference pole vault championship last weekend in New Mexico but he also set the conference’s all-time indoor record and the meet record with a final clearance of 18’ 9.5” (5.73m).
