Responding to inevitable change

Body
If you attended Tuesday’s EDC sponsored meeting with Betty Russo from the governor’s office or Wednesday’s city council meeting, you got a glimpse of the potential growth coming to Wallis. While some are excited to see changes and maybe have our town increase in population with new amenities, some are resistant and want to maintain the small-town feel.

Red Ribbon Week

Body
It’s Red Ribbon Week at school. This means clothing themes for each day to help build hype and support the message. Now don’t get me wrong, we love the message. However, themed clothing days are the bane of every mother’s existence. If there’s a mom out there telling you she thinks it’s fun, she’s lying. This is how a normal themed clothing week goes…

Unity despite the pandemic

Body
The more time I spend in Sealy, the more I learn about how amazing this place is and how blessed I am to get to be a part of it. The start of the school year has been another great example of the qualities I admire about our community and Sealy ISD. Things are changing on Main Street

Body
Progress! Things are constantly changing downtown, some in big chunks and others slowly beneath the surface. Just this year we have had six new additions to our Main Street: Betsy’s Bakery and Café, Graze and Peace, Sealy Nutrition, The SlussShack Daiquiris to go, Chevron with 7’s Market, and most recently the Sealy Appliance Center with a few more in the works to come soon! With all these new places, our focus goes to providing adequate parking (which will always need to be on our radar) and keeping these places supported by our locals.
