Violet R. (Ingraca) Williamson, 93, passed away into the arms of Jesus on May 28, 2021. Violet was born on October 17, 1927, in Oakland, California (Alameda County).

Violet married Roy L. Williamson, Jr., in 1944. Roy was serving in the Navy. They moved to Dayton, Texas, to start their family. Moving from Dayton to Houston and settling in Spring Branch. Their family grew to 5 children.

Violet was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, cooking and crafts. She worked with her daughters in Girl Scouts and her son in Cub Scouts. The family belonged to St. Peters E&R Lutheran Church where Violet was involved with the Women’s Circle and helped with many church events. After her son graduated, she went on to have a career in the dry-cleaning industry, working for Pilgrims Cleaners and Dapper Dan as a substation operator then manager of several locations. Later she worked with Spring Branch ISD Food Services, starting as a kitchen worker. When she retired, she was a cashier in an elementary school. Violet was loved by all the children and managed to know each of them. She moved to Sealy, Texas in 1997 with her daughter, Jerry and husband. She was living at Brazos Crossing Assisted Living when she became ill.

Violet was a member of Simonton Community Church, where she was an active member, participating in the Quilters group. She was incredibly talented at embroidery making blocks for the quilters to put into quilts.

Preceding Violet in death: Antone R. Ingraca (father), Scholastica Coehlo Ingraca (mother), Antone R. Ingraca (brother), Roy L. Williamson Jr. (husband), Cathy L. Williamson (daughter) and Pamela L. Williamson (daughter.)

She is survived by children: Jerry L. King (Carl), Roxanna McDugald and Roy Williams, III (Diane). Grandchildren: Douglas E. McPhate (Lori), Rebecca D. Timm, Carl L. King, Jr. (Deika), Tabitha McDugald, Devin McDugald, Brandon McDugald (Julie), Timmaree Williamson, Patrick Williamson, Garrick Williamson (Michelle) and Cassandra Carlyle (Robert) as well as 15 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

The family thanks the many people that took exceptional care of Violet. Brazos Crossing, Briarwood Manor Nursing Home, Simonton Community Church, and Amedisys Hospice. Violet’s last days were made easier with the loving care given to her and the family.

There will be no memorial service, Violet wished that any Memorial to her be given to Simonton Community Church in Simonton, Texas, to the Building Fund.
