Jerry Wayne “Butch” Goebel, 73, of Millheim, Texas, passed away Thursday, December 8, 2022, in Sealy, Texas.

He was born September 21, 1949, in Bellville, Texas, the son of Alfred and Bonnie Sternberg Goebel. Butch grew up Millheim and attended schools in Bellville, graduating from Bellville High School. After graduation, he enrolled in Blinn College. Butch was a local dairy farmer in the Millheim community, and later worked

for Blue Bell Creameries in Brenham for many years.

He was a very selfless man and the love for his community beyond measures. Butch would lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it, from a family member to a stranger. His family was his greatest achievement, and he would work countless hours to provide for them and show each one how much he loved them. In his spare time, he enjoyed Millheim Hall Barbeques and other events. Butch also like reading, fishing, and tending to his cattle.

He is survived by his sons: Ulrich Goebel and his wife, Carly, Garen Goebel, and Bryn Goebel, all of Sealy; daughters: Amiel King and her husband, John, Amrah Sanchez, and Abigail Goebel, all of Katy; fifteen grandchildren; six great grandchildren; sisters: Sue Gregorcyk, and Mary Jackson; and numerous other family and dear friends.

Butch was preceded in death by his parents: Alfred and Bonnie Goebel; stepdad: Charles Ulrich; and brother: John Ulrich.

Visitation was held Monday, December 12, 2022, from 5:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M., at Schmidt Funeral Home in Bellville.

A Funeral Service was held at 11:00 A.M., Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel.

Pallbearers were Bobby Hartmann, Chad Swearingen, Mark Bolten, Billy Palm, Frank Monk, and Gordon Goebel.

Interment followed in the Millheim Cemetery.
