Anthony Leroy “Tony” Hauerland, 78, of Bernardo, Texas, passed away on November 2, 2021, in Bernardo with his loving family by his side.

He was born on February 3, 1943, to Anton Hauerland and Henrietta (Sivek) Hauerland in Sealy, Texas. On May 17, 1964, he married Shirley Frazier.

Tony had a diverse career, starting as a lineman for HL&P, providing maintenance at Smith Industry Technologies, working as a right-away technician for San Bernard Electric Co-op, a truck driver for Country Waste and finalizing his career as a rancher on the family homestead.

He was a member of St. Roch’s Catholic Church in Mentz, Texas.

Tony enjoyed trail riding, hunting and most of all spending time with his family.

Tony is survived by his wife of fifty-seven years Shirley Hauerland; daughter Tammy Valdez and husband Juan of Pattison; son Scott Hauerland and wife Lisa of Sealy; sister Beatrice Wormeli of Brenham; sister-in-law Paulette Hauerland of Crosby; brother Leroy Hauerland and wife Sylvia of Sealy; grandchildren Cody Barrett and Cory Barrett.

He was preceded in death by his parents Anton and Henrietta Hauerland; brother Edward Hauerland and brother-in-law John Wormeli.

Visitation was held on Friday, November 5, 2021, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus, Texas. A rosary followed at 7 p.m.

Funeral service was held Saturday, November 6, 2021, at 10 a.m. at Henneke Funeral Home in Columbus, Texas. Deacon John Glueck officiated.

Burial took place in Sealy City Cemetery in Sealy, Texas.

Pallbearers were Brad Hauerland, Kevin Kubricht, Mark Hauerland, John Poenitzsch, Will Hauerland, Hudson Hauerland, Ronny Harris and Greg Goebel.

Honorary pallbear ers were Cory Barrett, Cody Barrett, Oliver Weishuhn, Larry Poenitzsch and Leroy Hauerland.
