Alice Agnes Faldyn, of Sealy, TX, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2022, at the age of 85.

She was born on April 28, 1937 in O’Quinn, Texas to Cyril and Martha Muras. Growing up she was busy working on her parent’s dairy farm. If she wasn’t helping feed and milk the cows, she was inside cooking and helping her mother with housework. She was a bridesmaid in a cousin’s wedding where she met the love of her life, Edmund. He was the groomsman she was matched to for the ceremony. They started dating after that, truly a match made in Heaven! When Edmund went into the army, Alice waited 2 years for him, while he was stationed overseas in Germany. They kept in touch with lots of letters. Alice asked her mother if she could have a portrait taken so she could send it to Edmund. They were married on February 8, 1959, soon after his return. They were blessed with 4 children, Dennis, Ronnie, Karen, and Arlene.

Alice loved to bake, cook, sew, embroider, quilt, dance, play dominoes, and babysit. You could always find something sweet and delicious to eat at the house, like cookies, cakes, pies, strudels, and kolaches. Alice and Edmund attended numerous dances in nearby towns with their family and friends; there wasn’t a polka or waltz that they couldn’t dance to. Alice truly loved to dance! They would go to the Hill Center each week to meet with friends, play dominoes, have lunch together, and share good laughs and stories. She also enjoyed helping the elderly at both The Oaks and Silver Lake retirement communities.

Alice was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Frydek, a member and officer of the K.J.Z.T., and a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. She helped at the Frydek Grotto celebrations with baking kolaches and serving food in the meal line, as well as helping at the American Legion Hall with bingo.

Alice worked at numerous places throughout her life including a sewing factory, Bill’s Supermarket, and even at Sealy Elementary School where she helped the youngsters at lunchtime with opening their little milk cartons. Alice really enjoyed helping both young and old and in between.

Alice is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Edmund Faldyn; her 4 children: Dennis Faldyn, Ronnie Faldyn and wife Deanna, Karen White and husband David, and Arlene Tomlinson and husband Jim; her 8 grandchildren: Blake Faldyn and fiancée Sabrina, Rachel Faldyn, Chris White, Kim White, Meagan McQuiston, Kacey McQuiston and wife Karen, Zach Tomlinson and wife Katelyn, Renae Haley and husband Kevin; her 4 great grandchildren: Easton, Ember, Elliot, and Ava; 2 siblings: Marcella Wagner and husband Lawrence, and Leo Muras.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Cyril M. Muras Sr. and Martha Svec Muras; 3 brothers: Bernard Muras, Henry Muras, and Cyril Muras, Jr.; and 1 sister: Dorothy Gorka and husband Julius.
