Beverlea Geraldean Knight, age 85, of San Felipe, Texas passed away Friday, November 25, 2022, in Katy, Texas. Beverlea was born May 23, 1937, to Glen and Louise Leadford in Licking, Missouri. She attended the Licking schools and graduated in 1955. In 1961, she and her first husband, Leroy Keaton, moved to Texas and left their beloved State of Missouri.

June Gentry Leenen was born in Hudson Chapel, Texas on June 9, 1938. She grew up in Hudson Chapel, a small community outside of Rusk, surrounded by a lot of family. She attended school in Rusk, graduating from Rusk High School. She then attended Lon Morris College in Jacksonville, Texas with the intention of becoming a music teacher.

George L. Berckenhoff of Sealy passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at the age of 87. George was born on May 30, 1935 in Mouton, Texas to Liberat “Lee” and Lillie Berckenhoff, (nee Svetlik). He attended St. Joseph’s Catholic and Baursville Public Schools before entering the US Army in 1957. While serving in the Army, he was stationed in Poitiers, France where he managed supplies, trucking, and warehouse inventory logistics. Upon honorable discharge from military service, George moved to Houston and began working at JMH Grocery in Bellaire. Shortly thereafter, in October 1959, he went to work for Houston Coca-Cola & Bottling Company as a route delivery driver. Robert Worth (Bobby) Filip, 88 of Wallis passed October 13, 2022. He was born on May 6, 1934, in Shiner, Texas to the parents of Emil & Agnes (Mikes) Filip. His family moved to Wallis to the little share choppers village on the bluff of the Charles Kaechele Farm. He was raised by a single father after his mother passed away when he was only 4 years old.

FRANKIE J. CIESLEWICZ

Frankie J. Cieslewicz, 78, formerly of Frydek, Texas, passed away on Saturday, 10/29/2022, in Needville, Texas. Following a long battle with Alzheimer’s Dementia, he is now reunited with his late parents, siblings and beloved wife, Barbara Ann, whom he shared 34 wonderful years of marriage. Frankie was born 11/20/1943 at Sealy Hospital, being the youngest of 3 siblings to parents Tom and Josephine Lezak Cieslewicz. Although his mother passed away when he was 3 months old, he was reared in the Frydek-Mixville area, primarily by his maternal grandmother, Hattie Cieslewicz. Frankie was no stranger to work, as his father was a cotton farmer, but his love of music was his saving grace. Playing guitar and singing was a vital part of his life and enabled the meeting of his future wife while he was on stage in Wallis, Texas. At the age of 16, he was performing with his uncle, John Jurecek, and continued the weekend band life as he joined many bands through the years such as The Quotations and The Sil Krenek Orchestra. Frankie never turned down an opportunity to entertain for numerous events at local nursing homes, church picnics, or helping bands needing a rhythm guitar player and singer; but it was his family who most cherished him taking out the guitar and singing in the front yard,
