This year there were more than three times the players from the previous year, and it was a sold-out tournament. The chamber could not be more thankful for the overwhelming support. It was great to get back to the newly opened Stephen F. Austin Golf Course.

New Ulm Texas Oktoberfest has been scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 8 rain or shine at The New Ulm Fireman’s Park. Families from far and wide are looking forward to this annual festival of music, fun and food.

Faith Academy was honored to host Lt. Col. Chris Hansen USAF, Ret., as the guest speaker at the 2022 Patriot Day Assembly. Patriot Day is a time to commemorate the lives lost in the 9/11 terrorist attack that occurred on September 11, 2001. The assembly was held on September 9, 2022 and attended by the junior and senior high school students. The program also included a touching remembrance video presentation made by a few of their teachers that gave the students a personal glimpse into the day.

The Sealy High School Tigers hosted the Stafford High School Spartans for homecoming at T.J. Mills Stadium Sept.

Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo officials awarded $3,903,295 in additional premiums to 1,889 junior market exhibitors. The additional premiums are given in addition to the $4,217,500 in guaranteed premiums that have already been paid to these exhibitors. “The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo is proud to further support these hardworking Texas 4-H and FFA exhibitors who qualified for our 2022 junior market auctions,” said Chris Boleman, Rodeo president and CEO. “These additional premiums are made possible by our devoted volunteer auction committees and generous auction buyers who support our mission of promoting agriculture and supporting Texas youth and education.”

On September 10 and 11 the Wallis #22 KJZT Jr and KJZT Senior societies held a Feeding Families Bake Sale. All proceeds raised will go toward the St Vincent de Paul Thanksgiving food disbursement and Austin County Meals on Wheels.
