With a low voter turnout across the county, voters in Sealy, San Felipe and Wallis elected its city’s leaders for the new two years. In the city of Sealy, Chris Noack was re-elected to office for his position as councilmember Place 2 as he outlasted Melaney McShan by a vote of 101-63.
An Austin County jury delivered the maximum sentences to a Sealy man who was accused of being a serial domestic abuser during the trial last week. Richard Gatlin, 30, of Sealy, was given the maximum sentences during the four-day trial in District Judge Jeff Steinhauser’s court.
