Six years ago, Sealy and Austin County was rocked by the tragic deaths of two young children in an automobile accident. Their parents have worked diligently every year to keep their children’s memories alive and well in the community and last Friday, donated a Buddy Bench to Selman Elementary to honor Greysen Droddy and Greyson Harper, who died in the accident six years ago.

Bidding set to begin

Sealy can now call itself home to the largest auction facilities in Texas with the opening of Yoder and Frey Heavy Equipment Auctions. The group held its first auction at its new location at 7044 Interstate 10 last week and now the challenge is do get ready for the next one.

Blinn Paramedic Program recognizes 20 graduates

The Blinn College District Paramedic Program recently welcomed 20 new graduates to the profession during a pinning ceremony held at the Blinn RELLIS Administration Building at Texas A&M-RELLIS. Each graduate earned their paramedic technology certificate or Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Associate in Applied Science degree, which qualifies them for entry-level paramedic positions and can be applied toward a bachelor’s degree.

Blinn enrolled 17,554 students for fall 2022

The Blinn College District Board of Trustees received an enrollment report during its regular meeting Tuesday showing that Blinn enrolled 17,554 students for the fall 2022 semester, a 2.79% increase over the previous year. The College District also saw a 3.54% increase in contact hours, time during which a student receives active instruction as part of a course. State funding is based in part on an institution’s contact hours.
