Annual Pollinator BioBlitz is the Bee’s knees

For the next two weeks Texans can take part in the seventh annual Texas Pollinator BioBlitz. In support of the event, organizations and sites around the state will be hosting a variety of events to get people outdoors to observe pollinators of all types in yards, natural areas, gardens, parks and community centers. Of course, you don’t have to visit a particular site to participate; your very own yard or green space will do.

Annual Boo Bash celebration

Boo Bash 2022 was held Oct. 31 in Historic Main Street in Sealy. The outdoor festival with free admission provided entertainment, kid’s game and contests, haunted houses, face painting, a trainride and candy for children of all ages. Early voting ends Friday; election Tuesday

E arly voting for the general election ends on Friday, Nov. 4, with the closely watched governor’s race pitting incumbent Gov. Greg Abbott against challenger Beto O’ Rourke headlining the ballot. A number of other statewide races are on the ballot, including lieutenant governor, attorney general, land commissioner, agriculture commissioner and comptroller.

Master Gardeners present series

The Bluebonnet Master Gardeners of Austin County are pleased to present the final presentation in the 2022 Fall “Lunch-N-Learn” series hosted on the third Tuesday of November. The overall series has featured topics related to horticulture with homeowner and backyard gardeners in mind! Speakers are experts in their fields and practical gardeners with great tips and information for everyone.
