Quanell X lashed out at Austin County Sheriff Jack Brandes and Austin County District Attorney Travis Koehn for the handling of a Jan. 16 incident at Lindemann’s store in Industry.
Quanell X held a press conference on the steps on the Austin County Courthouse Monday, Jan. 23 and called Koehn “a clown” for his handling of the case.
Prior to the press conference, Koehn issued a press statement on the incident. It reads as follows:

Travel center coming to Sealy

Khawar and Sons Inc and its affiliates, Farooqi Development LLC and CTB construction are gearing up to begin construction in Sealy to build the world’s largest fuel station and travel center. This site will operate under their Now and Forever brand of convenience stores and travel centers, which are rapidly expanding nationwide. Along with the massive fuel station, the companies also intend to construct a colossal, fully indoor water park.

Main Street Board seeks new members

Any Sealy residents looking to volunteer their time to work on enhancing the downtown Sealy area, then the city of Sealy has openings on a board that needs assistance. The city of Sealy is looking for volunteer residents wanting to work together to strengthen and enhance downtown Sealy by serving on the Main Street Advisory Board.

Diem to present program for Texas German Society

Spencer Diem, teacher of German at Sealy High School, will present the next program to the Bluebonnet Chapter of the Texas German Society on Sunday, Jan. 15 at 3 p.m. He will describe his educational program, his trips to Germany, and other German topics of interest.

Intoxicated manslaughter charges filed

After months of a slow waiting process, the toxicology reports from a July accident have resulted in intoxication manslaughter with a vehicle charge being filed against a Bellville woman. Jill Dollar McGinty, 49, was already in the Austin County Jail on unrelated charges when she was presented with the manslaughter charge.
