Family still waiting on answers on jail death

Quincy Williams was laid to rest this weekend with friends and family attending the funeral. While family members grieved over the loss of the 30-year-old son, brother and father, questions are still lingering over his death in the Austin County Jail March 11.

After 13 years of being a fixture of Sealy’s summer landscape, the Sealy Community Foundation announced that this year’s event is being canceled due to lack of funding. “It was definitely one of the hardest decisions that I personally ever had to make in my life,” said Sealy Community Foundation President Melanie Willingham.
Blinn College livestock judging team places third

The Blinn College livestock judging team made sure its final competition of the season was a memorable one. Blinn placed third in the junior college division Saturday at the prestigious Houston Livestock and Rodeo (HLSR) competition, where Avery Oliver was the top individual.

Kitzman authors firearm constitutional bill

District 85 State Representative Stan Kitzman announced that he has authored HB 3750, a bill that would exempt firearms and ammunition as well as components of a firearm from sales tax. A staunch supporter of the Constitution, Kitzman believes that it is a violation of Second Amendment to tax something integral to exercising one’s rights.
