State releases school safety guidance, OAG training for school officers

AUSTIN — Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton released an advisory clarifying the requirements under state law for school districts to prepare for potential threats to student safety. Texas families equipped with knowledge of the law are more empowered to hold districts accountable for implementing and following the policies essential to keeping children safe at school.

Private applicator training slates 2024 schedule

If you plan on using a state limited use or state restricted use pesticide, such as Grazon P+D, 2 4-D, Weedmaster, etc., and need a license, the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service of Austin County will be hosting several Private Applicator Training classes during 2024 at the Austin County Extension Office, 800 E Wendt St, Bellville.

Sealy KC’s Famous Lenten Fish Fry Friday March 15 The Sealy Knights of Columbus Famous Lenten Fish Fry, Friday, March 15 at the Sealy Columbus Club Hall at 1310 Hwy 90 West, Sealy, and will continue every Friday during Lent. Serving Drive Thru only, starting at 5:30 to 7:15 p.m. A portion of the proceeds from this event will benefit Austin County Meals on Wheels.

THE boys and girls of SUMMER are BACK

Both the Sealy boys’ baseball and Sealy girls’ softball programs are in full swing with both teams participating in tournaments in preparation for the upcoming season.

The Sealy Lady Tigers have already begun district play while the Sealy Tigers are set to kick off their district season March 12.

While the Tigers may be in a bit of a rebuilding season this season, the Lady Tigers are returning a strong team that should be ready to contend for a playoff berth this season.
