Austin County ready for playoffs on soccer front

Sealy will be well represented when the district soccer playoffs begin next week. Both the Sealy boys’ and girls’ program have qualified for the soccer playoffs and will be joined by Bellville boys’ and girls’ squads as well Last year, the Sealy Lady Tigers steamrolled through district and claimed the district title with only one loss that came at the hands of Navasota.

Paxton to settle with CVS

Texas Attorney General Paxton announced plans to enter into a $5.034 billion multistate settlement with CVS Pharmacy for its role in the nationwide opioid epidemic, with over $276 million designated for Texas. The agreement will largely track the terms of the Global Prescription Opioid Litigation Settlement Agreement with opioid distributors that was executed in July 2021.

Sealy Knights of Columbus Lenten Fish Fry March 17 The Sealy Knights of Columbus will be serving their Lenten Fish Fry Dinner Friday, March 17 at the Sealy Columbus Club Hall, located at 1310 Hwy 90, in Sealy. Dinner will be served from 5:30 p.m.- 7:15 p.m. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Sealy Pregnancy Center.
