Travis Koehn, Austin County District Attorney, will be the speaker at the next meeting of the Bluebonnet Chapter of the Texas German Society. His topic will be “Reflections of Your District Attorney” and the meeting will be held at the Sens Center at 200 Briar Ridge Drive in Bellville 77418 at 3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 19.

After the program, the chapter will have a short business meeting. Also, members will be asked to identify their ancestors’ locations on a map of Germany for a display at the State Convention in Tomball March 19.

At the last meeting in November, 49 members and guests enjoyed a presentation “Early German Settlers in Austin County” by local attorney and noted historian Jamie Elick.

Anyone with an interest in German culture and history is invited to the meeting and encouraged to join the Bluebonnet Chapter. Knowledge of the German language is not required. To join one should contact chapter president Herbert Schumann at 979-865-3804.
