A Bellville mother identified as 24-year-old Italia McGregor was Houston’s first shooting victim of 2022 around 2 a.m. Jan. 1 in an incident that injured two other men. She left behind three children, including a two-month-old.

Jan. 6, Gregory Allen was arrested and charged with murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. At the time, a second unidentified male suspect described as a black male, 26 to 29 years old, medium to heavy build with a full beard remained at large.

McGregor was pronounced deceased at the scene whereas the two male victims, 23 and 31 years old, were treated for non-life-threatening wounds according to investigators

HPD Homicide Division Sergeant B. Roberts and Detective L. Lange reported in a Jan. 7 release: “Officers were dispatched to a shooting call outside a club/lounge at (11750 South Wilcrest Drive) and found Ms. McGregor and two men with gunshot wounds. … One male victim was treated and released from an area hospital and the other male victim was treated at the scene.

“Detectives learned that as the victims exited the club a verbal argument began in the parking lot. The argument escalated with multiple people involved in a fist fight. During the altercation, two black male suspects pulled out guns and began firing shots in multiple directions. The suspects then fled the scene in a white Dodge Charger.”

Anyone with additional information on the identity or whereabouts of the second suspect wanted in this case is urged to contact the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
