Wednesday morning, the National Weather Service extended its Winter Weather Advisory area to include Austin County from 6 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 3, to 9 a.m. Friday, Feb. 4.
The extension statement said a “mix of light freezing rain and ice pellets are possible for these areas (Austin and Colorado County). Ice accumulations up to a tenth of an inch is possible,” which could also produce “slippery conditions on elevated roadways, bridges and overpasses.”
Columbus Police Department confirmed Wednesday night that the pursuit that completely shut down Interstate 10 Eastbound Tuesday night ended in a fatality.

The Bellville Police Department released a statement Sunday morning that said a 9-year-old boy was struck by a train around 7 a.m. and was transported to Bellville Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries.

Three suspects accused of catalytic convert theft were arrested by Sealy Police at approximately 3:30 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 19 after an observant neighbor notified the police of suspicious activity, according to the Sealy Police Department.
