Tuesday morning, Virnau Sealy Tractor announced its sale to Washington County Tractor after 60 years in business. Jeff Virnau, owner and operator of Virnau and Sons Tractor, announced his family business was selling to Chris Wackman and his family business, also located in Sealy, in a video released Tuesday morning.

Independence Day was celebrated through the rain around Austin County over the weekend with a 190th birthday and plenty of fireworks. The City of Industry – Texas’ oldest permanent German settlement – celebrated 190 years since its founding with a party in the park on Main Street Saturday, July 3.

Annual festival returns

A year after being forced to cancel the annual summer festival due to the pandemic, Sealybration returns this weekend with a full schedule set to kick off Friday, July 9. Sealybration organizers say they are prepared for record-setting crowds at Mark A. Chapman Park, located at 145 Lux Road.
