If you haven’t been to the Gordon Memorial Library recently, it’s time to pay it another visit.

Thanks to a proactive board of directors, the Gordon Memorial Library has revamped its services to better serve the needs of this community.

Chairman of the Gordon Memorial Library Board Terry Arnold said, “we have revamped every single thing at the library.”

Arnold moved to the Sealy area in 2020 and being a new resident started to utilize the library

Aiden Glueck, a FFA member from Cat Spring captured Senior Champion Heifer with BPB Nola 019J in the Simbrah Junior Heifer Show at the 2023 Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo on Jan. 23. The 2023 Show is hosting junior exhibitors from across Texas competing for awards and more than $37,110 in Junior Heifer Show premiums.

On Wednesday, Jan. 25, the family of Devarjaye “DJ” Daniel, 10-year-old that has been diagnosed with terminal brain and spine cancer, contacted the Austin County Sheriff’s Office requesting his swearing in as an honorary deputy with the agency.

Austin County is under a winter weather advisory until noon Wednesday.

Residents can expect freezing rain, ice accumulations around or less than one-eighth of an inch.

The counties effected include Walker, Grimes, Colorado, Austin and Waller counties.

Closing arguments are scheduled for Monday in the million dollar civil lawsuit against a pipeline company and the damage to an Austin County golf course during Hurricane Harvey. 

International Golf Club is suing Enterprise Crude Pipeline for damages in excess of $1 million dollars to the River Ridge Golf Course in Brazos Country.  

Quanell X lashed out at Austin County Sheriff Jack Brandes and Austin County District Attorney Travis Koehn for the handling of a Jan. 16 incident at Lindemann’s store in Industry.

Quanell X held a press conference on the steps on the Austin County Courthouse Monday, Jan. 23 and called Koehn “a clown” for his handling of the case.
