Thursday, Trey Marik was announced as the next head baseball coach of the Sealy Tigers. Dane Bennett, who served as head coach the previous four seasons, will be remaining on staff.

Marik, a member of Bellville High School’s Class of 1988, most recently coached the Somerville Yeguas and made previous coaching stops in Columbus and Brenham. Somerville had gone winless in multiple seasons before Marik’s stint and in 2021, the Yeguas secured a playoff position as the fourth-place team in District 26-2A.

Bennett compiled a 62-49-1 overall record in four years as the head man in Sealy and made the playoffs each year there was a full season played. He said he will remain on the football and baseball coaching staffs.
