The Sealy Area Historical Society is hosting a Spring Fest April 9 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Sealy Historical Park at 211 East Main Street. There is a great lineup of entertainment scheduled all day, including the Polish dance group Wawel and singer/songwriter/ author Mike Blakely.

Local talent will share their dancing and singing, including Kasey Picard who clogs, Grayson Oliver who loves to perform retro Frank Sinatra songs, and country singer Blane Fisher.

Also featured will be storytelling, old-fashioned games to include egg toss competitions, hoop and stick races, a treasure hunt, and hula hoop competitions – great for all ages. There will also be train rides and balloon twisting. Great vendors will sell handmade wares, and the Bluebonnet Master Gardeners are holding their annual plant sale.

The old 1887 Sealy Jail and the 1927 Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe caboose will be open for tours. Recently, both have undergone complete restoration of their exteriors.

Excellent fare will be served from the kitchen, and hand-cranked ice cream will be sold along with a bake sale featuring carrot cake, quiches, peanut brittle, brownies, pies, and more.

Spring Fest is sponsored by the Sealy Area Historical Society. For a complete schedule and more information visit sealyhistoricalsociety.org.
