Brazos bands shine at competition

For the first time ever, the Brazos Middle School 7th Grade Band competed at the UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest by themselves.

The 7th Grade Band received, “Excellent,” ratings from the judges both on stage and in the sightreading room.

A great accomplishment for their very first UIL competition.

Then this afternoon, the Mighty Cougar Band performed and earned a “Superior,” rating on stage and an “Excellent,” rating in sightreading.

Three Cougars named to THSCA state teams

Three members of the Brazos Cougar football team were honored to be placed on the THSCA Academic All State teams. This is considered a big honor that the Texas High School Coach Association places on players recognizing their talent on the field and hardwork in the classroom as well. First team honoree was Colton Richardson (54) and honorable mention honorees included Trey Gaston (4) and Jenson Miles (3).
