As of Sunday, there were eight active wildfires; the largest was the Nethery Road Fire in Kimble County, involving an estimated 3,500 acres. It has been 70% contained.

New company coming to Wallis

Body
Our next exciting business coming to Wallis will be Marini’s Catering Kitchen and food truck. Mr. Sergio Marini has purchased the building Wallasites call the Jones building, or the original bank building. And for those that have been in the building the original vault and safe were still there because the safe was cemented into the floor and the vault walls were designed as support structure for the roof. For the rest of us it is the corner building on first street with the arched window openings. I’ve heard many fond memories of the Jones family’s hamburgers being served there.

The Sealy Ministerial Alliance Announces
GOOD SAMARITAN SHOP BACK-TO-SCHOOL CLEARANCE SALE
Fill a bag of merchandise for $5
Thursday, August 4 – Saturday, August 6 - 8am – 6pm
Thursday, August 11 – Saturday, August 13 - 8am – 6pm
219 West Front Street in Downtown Sealy
The shop will be closed from September – November for renovations
Hello to all supporters of the Sealy Ministerial Alliance! As an update to you of the SMA’s recent work, the extremely hot summer has brought with it an influx of people needing assistance in many forms – electrical bills, water and other utility bills, and overnight stays in hotels for the homeless. The funding used to assist the clients of SMA is largely a result of sales at the Good Samaritan Shop in the downtown area of Sealy. The Good Samaritan Shop has served the community well, but it’s potential is even greater. To achieve its full potential, a revitalization of the GSS is being planned.
The GSS will have a huge clearance sale beginning the first week of August to completely clear out the current donations. The shop will then be closed for approximately 2-3 months to undergo the revitalization. Reopening is scheduled for late November or early December.
The needs of our community are great, but together we can be advocates for the needy and improve the lives of those most in need, one soul at a time. Donations are being accepted for this project!
